How the Game Works

  1. Credits
    1. Credits can be purchased for £1 each
    2. 1 credit allows you to purchase one entry (Planet) into a single Planet XYZ game (Cube)
    3. Once you have confirmed the purchase of a Planet that Planet belongs to you. No-one else can purchase that Planet
    4. Planets are not transferable between players
    5. No refunds are granted once a Planet has been purchased and confirmed
  2. Choosing Planets
    1. You can either scroll through the Slices, click on one and then choose your Planet from a cross-section of Planets or;
    2. Via the Lucky Dip* button which will choose a random Planet for you
    3. Each Entry/Lucky Dip Entry costs 1 credit
  3. Prizes
    1. A Prize or a Number of Prizes are allocated before the Cube goes live
    2. Once the first Planet has been purchased prizes cannot be added to a Cube or removed from a Cube
    3. When the last remaining Planet has been purchased, the Cube will be closed and archived
    4. Prizes are allocated randomly amongst the players who purchased Planets for the Cube after it has been archived
    5. A list of winners will be made available after Prizes have been allocated
    6. The total value of the Prize (or Prizes ) for a particular Cube will be no more than 55% of the overall revenue generated by that Cube (i.e. a 10x10x10 cube totalling 1000 planets at a cost of £1 per credit can have a maximum prize fund of £550).
    7. The remaining 45% of Cube revenue will be distributed as laid out in the Where the Money Goes section
  4. Syndicates*
    1. On larger games you will be able to purchase squares as an individual or as part of a syndicate
    2. Syndicate prizes can only be split between the syndicate by a designated representative of the syndicate
  5. Where the money goes
    1. Planet XYZ is committed to returning the maximum amount for Good Causes (Charities and Environmental Organisations) in and around the local area of Gloucestershire and to other UK charities and organisations.
    2. In the first year (up to August 2010) we expect 22.5% of Planet XYZ revenue to be distributed to charities and environmental organisations
    3. As the list of affiliated organisations grow, members of Planet XYZ will be able to choose which organisation their donations will be allocated to.*
    4. 55% of the revenue will be returned to players in the form of Cash Prizes or Alternative Prize up to a value of 55% of the gross money received for that game.
    5. The remaining 22.5% will go towards Operating Costs (such as bank charges, registration fees and transaction charges), Lottery Duty and Taxes.
  6. Private Advertising
    1. Revenue generated from Advertising on the Planet XYZ will go towards Operating Costs.
    2. When operating costs have been recovered any remaining advertising revenue will be added to the fund for charities and environmental organisations.
    3. Advertising will be available at different levels, you can choose to sponsor:
      1. The Planet XYZ Website – £10,000 (Package 1)
      2. Individual Games – £1,000 (Package 2)
      3. Individual Slices – £10 (Package 3)
      4. Individual Planets – £1 (Package 4)
    4. What you will get as part of the sponsorship package:
      1. A prominent advertisement and web link placed on our website dependent on the package you take out
      2. Adverts on the Prize Winners sections after completion of a game and when prizes have been allocated to registered members
      3. Package 1 will run for 12 months with first refusal to renew at the end of the 12 month contract
      4. Packages 2,3 & 4 will run for the life of the individual game which is sponsored
    5. Funds from Package 1 can be allocated to Prize Money, Charities and Operating Costs as laid out in Section 5
    6. Funds from Packages 2, 3 & 4 can only be allocated to Prize Money and Charities for the sponsored game (with a minimum of 45% being allocated to charities)
  7. Charities and Environmental Organisations
    1. There will be no charge for Charitable or Environmental Organisations to advertise on the site or be affiliated with Planet XYZ. Planet XYZ is a fundraising organisation, so please contact us directly to discuss becoming a Planet XYZ affiliated organisation and to register to be placed on the Planet XYZ donor registry.
