How to Play Planet XYZ

Each planet is a separate game, and you can choose to play in as many games as you like.

The surface of each planet is divided into a grid of triangular pieces that we call ‘territories’. One of these territories is destined to be a prize winner. If you strike lucky and it’s your territory that wins, you get to keep the prize! Prizes range from Driving Experiences to iPods, but you won’t be able to tell from looking which could be the lucky spot. This is a game of chance, with your fate written in the stars (or planets).

Credits

A single credit allows you to purchase a single territory – that’s what we call one triangular piece of the grid. Once you’ve chosen your territory and confirmed selection, that part of the planet is entirely yours. The territory can only be owned by one player, and no one else can select the same territory once the player has confirmed selection. Each player can select one territory per planet.

Choosing your territory

Scroll across your chosen planet and click on any territory not already shaded. If you click on one that’s already been taken you won’t be able to proceed, but click on an available territory and a window will pop up that asks if you’d like to confirm your selection. Click ‘cancel’ to change your mind, or ‘yes’ to confirm and select your territory.

Alternatively, you can select a ‘lucky dip’ entry, where a territory will be chosen at random for you.

Prizes

A prize, or number of prizes, is allocated to each planet. Once the first territory on each planet has been purchased, prizes will not be added or removed from that planet. When the last territory of the planet has been purchased, that game will be closed and the planet ‘archived’. Prizes are allocated randomly, the winner will be notified using the contact details provided at registration, and a list of winners will be made available via the website.

Where the money goes

No revenue is generated through playing PlanetXYZ, we are simply hoping to raise awareness for all of the charities and environmental organisations who need your support.

We are however hoping to raise some revenue through advertising placed on the site, and other sponsors.

Of the advertising revenue PlanetXYZ will donate a minimum of 30% to charities featured on PlanetXYZ. The remaining revenue will go towards the operating costs of the website and developing the game further.
